Protect Your Artwork with DIY Corner Protectors Made from Recycled Cardboard
Protecting the corners of your artwork is essential to prevent damage during transport or storage. A simple, cost-effective, and eco-friendly solution is to create corner protectors using recycled cardboard.
To save time in the future, I always keep a reusable template on hand. You can then adjust the dimensions slightly depending on the thickness of the canvas. Here’s a photo of my template:

Packaging: Protection and Professional Presentation
Since many of my artworks are framed under glass, I add an extra layer of protection made from recycled cardboard. I cover the cardboard for a more polished look and stamp it with my logo using a custom-made stamp created by an artisan on Etsy. (If you’d like to have one made, a quick search on Etsy will point you in the right direction.)
I also create my own shipping boxes from recycled cardboard. Here’s a short video showing the creation of a custom box: watch the video.
For unframed artworks, I recommend placing a sheet of glassine paper between the artwork and the bubble wrap. Bubble wrap applied directly to the surface can cause damage.
Even though the packaging is primarily made from recycled materials, the final result is both elegant and professional. Here’s a video montage showing how I package my artworks: watch the video.
A Sustainable and Creative Approach
By using recycled cardboard and creating your own packaging solutions, you reduce your environmental footprint while providing personalized care for your artworks. It’s proof that sustainability and professionalism can go hand in hand.
