For the past few years, I’ve been focused on a special project in collaboration with FloweRescue in Helsinki. As a volunteer, I work with flowers that can’t be given away, giving them a second life by transforming them into artworks.
Creating a Garden of Petals
I am currently working on creating a garden made up of several pieces, all composed of flower petals from surplus flowers. Each piece in this garden is a small artwork on its own, but together they form a coherent and harmonious composition. This project offers a way to give a new purpose to flowers that would otherwise be wasted, while honoring them through art.
The Influence of Simple Actions
This project doesn’t aim to revolutionize anything but rather to highlight the importance of small actions that, together, can make a difference. By reusing organic materials like petals, I hope to encourage reflection on our relationship with nature and how we can pay tribute to it in our creative work.
A Small Step Towards a More Responsible World
Far from claiming to have the solution to all environmental issues, my work is a modest contribution to a more respectful and sustainable approach. Working with rescued flowers has allowed me to develop a more mindful perspective on the beauty of simple materials, while emphasizing the importance of valuing them.
