Homemade Date Paste (Sugar Substitute)

The magic ingredient to naturally sweeten your desserts! It is the base of all my healthy recipes. Ultra simple to make, it replaces sugar everywhere and freezes perfectly so you always have some on hand.

Ingredients:

  • Pitted dates (quantity of your choice)

  • Water (enough to barely cover the dates)

Instructions:

  1. Place your dates in a saucepan.

  2. Add water to barely cover the fruits.

  3. Boil over medium heat until the dates are soft and soaked with water.

  4. Remove from heat.

  5. Blend directly in the saucepan using an immersion blender until you get a smooth texture.

  6. The Tip: If the paste is too thick, add a small splash of water and blend again until you reach the desired consistency.

  7. Let cool before using or freezing.
