In my artistic journey, working with bones has been both a delicate and deeply enriching experience. These remnants of life, whether animal or human, carry a silent history that I strive to honor and reinterpret through my art.

The Symbolism of Bones: Fragility and Permanence

Bones are fascinating in their duality. They represent both the fragility of life and the permanence of the body after death. By incorporating them into my work, I see an opportunity to transcend their raw state and transform them into objects of reflection and beauty.

For animal bones, I work exclusively with those from animals that died accidentally. These often-overlooked fragments are given new life in my creations, where I seek to celebrate their natural beauty and the symbolic strength they convey.

The Privilege of Working with Human Bones

I have also had the rare and profound opportunity to work with human bones. This journey took me years to approach with comfort, as it demands deep respect and careful thought about ethics and meaning. Each piece is treated with care—not merely as material, but as a vessel of history and emotion.

My intention is never to shock but to foster a dialogue between the material and the viewer. Bones remind us of our shared humanity, our mortality, and our ability to transcend death through memory, art, and connection.

A Philosophical and Poetic Approach

Working with bones is also a philosophical act. It is a tribute to past lives and an invitation to reflect on the relationship between the living and the non-living. Through my art, I aim to explore questions about our connection to nature, mortality, and how art can transform often-taboo materials into meaningful and poetic objects.

Reinterpreting Material to Preserve It

Every piece I create with bones is a way of preserving what might otherwise fade into oblivion. It is a meeting point between art and history, memory and imagination. My work is not just about using a material but about offering it a second life, a continuation in an artistic narrative.
